My online grinds combine expert language knowledge with a genuine understanding of how students learn, making lessons engaging, accessible and suited to the individual learner.

Anyone can explain grammar, but I teach it in a way your brain remembers. Drawing on my academic background in psychology and pedagogy, I use evidence-based learning techniques. Lessons are designed to help students retain vocabulary, understand concepts deeply, and recall what they need under exam pressure.

Every brain learns differently. With extensive experience supporting students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and other additional learning needs, I adapt every lesson to suit the individual student. Whether that means using music to teach grammar, using visual strategies to learn vocab, or finding creative ways to explain difficult topics, every lesson is tailored to help students thrive. I am passionate about neurodiversity and strive to create an inclusive and accessible teaching environment.

French Grinds
I am an Assistant French Lecturer at TUS Athlone, passionate about French language and culture. I tutor students from 1st to 6th year, including home-educated students. Lessons cover the full syllabus (grammar, writing, reading, listening and speaking). For those in exam years, I provide focused preparation for the Leaving Cert. (Higher and Ordinary Levels) and Junior Cycle (Common Level).
Whether the goal is building confidence or achieving H1 results in the Leaving Cert, lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning style. I provide original notes, homework and creative activities that help students truly understand French.
As an Assistant French Lecturer and member of the Athlone-Châteaubriant Twinning Committee, I have deep cultural ties with France. I love bringing the language to life for my students using contemporary Francophone culture, from Belgian pop music to sharing my favourite French snacks.
I also have experience tutoring French as an additional Leaving Cert. exam subject outside of school, at both Higher and Ordinary levels. As many third-level courses require a third language, students who need to prepare for Leaving Cert. French independently are encouraged to get in touch.
Irish Grinds
For many students, Irish can feel like a collection of rules that never quite seem to click. As a proud Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), my approach focuses on making the language clearer, more engaging and more relevant to everyday life. I help students understand how Irish works rather than simply memorising answers.
Lessons cover grammar, written work, reading and listening skills, literature and oral preparation. With the Leaving Cert oral exam accounting for 40% of the final grade, I focus on developing natural speaking skills and helping students feel prepared and confident. For those in exam years, I provide focused preparation for the Leaving Cert. (Higher and Ordinary Levels) and Junior Cycle (Higher and Ordinary Levels).
I enjoy incorporating contemporary Irish culture into my lessons through music, podcasts, TikTok and other media, helping students connect with Irish as a living language. Whether the goal is building stronger foundations, improving results or achieving H1 grades, students learn to approach Irish with greater understanding, and develop a genuine grá for the language.
Adult Learning
I offer Irish and French classes for adult learners, from complete beginners to upper-intermediate level (A1–B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Irish for adult learners
Irish is going through an athbheochan (revival), with more and more people looking to reconnect with Gaeilge or learn a cúpla focal (few words). I’m delighted to help learners on that journey, creating a relaxed and encouraging space where you can develop your skills at your own pace.
French for adult learners
French is one of the world’s most widely spoken languages, with French-speaking communities across every inhabited continent. Whether you’re planning a trip to Québec, Luxembourg, Madagascar or Guadeloupe, learning French opens the door to new cultures, experiences and opportunities.
French is also an important language in business, law and international organisations. As an Assistant French Lecturer at TUS, where I teach French for International Business, I also offer Business French classes for adult learners looking to develop their professional language skills.
